Since 1st January 2021, all wooden pallets used for shipping between the UK and the EU must be ISPM 15 compliant. This international standard requires wood packaging to undergo a specific heat treatment process, ensuring it is free from harmful pests that can threaten global ecosystems and agriculture.

Heat treatment involves heating the wood to a core temperature of 56°C for at least 30 minutes in a certified kiln. This process eliminates insects, larvae, fungi, and other contaminants.
